What is the difference between Virtual Business Address and Virtual Office?

Both give you the same real commercial street address in Silicon Valley and a photo of every envelope. Virtual Business Address is the address: you pay $1.99 each time you want a letter opened and scanned. Virtual Office includes 60 open-and-scans a month, and you can add a phone number, fax, and meeting-room booking for $20 a month.

How does scanning work, and what does it cost?

When mail arrives we photograph the envelope and email you. If you want to read it, ask us to open and scan it: $1.99 per item on Virtual Business Address (no per-page fee), or included up to 60 a month on Virtual Office. If you use more than about 13 scans a month, Virtual Office costs less than Virtual Business Address 30 plus scans.

What is in the +$20/mo add-on?

Accepted Answer

A local or toll-free phone number, fax, call forwarding and voicemail, and the ability to book meeting rooms at the building at the hourly rate. It is optional, only available on Virtual Office, and you add it after signup.

Can I use the address to register my LLC or corporation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It's a real commercial street address you can use as your business address to register your company, apply for an EIN, and file with your state. One thing to know: every state also requires a registered agent with an address inside that state, and that's a different thing from your business address. We don't provide registered agent service, so you'll arrange that separately.

What if a bank or platform asks for extra proof of address?

That's a common request. Tell us who's asking and what they need, and we'll let you know what we can provide to back up your application.

How is this different from a P.O. Box?

A P.O. Box is just a box at the post office, and banks and state agencies generally require a physical street address instead — so a P.O. Box usually won't work for a business registration or a bank application. Our addresses are real commercial street addresses in staffed buildings, and USPS classifies all seven as commercial.

Are scanning, forwarding, storage, and shredding included, or charged separately?

Shredding, a photo of every envelope, and free mail pickup are included on every plan, and junk mail doesn't count. Scanning depends on the plan: our partner-city Virtual Office plan includes 100 incoming items and 100 scans a month; in Silicon Valley, Virtual Office includes 60 incoming items and 60 scans a month, and Virtual Business Address 30/60 includes 30 or 60 incoming items with open & scan at $1.99 per item (no per-page fee). Forwarding is at carrier cost with no handling fee. No setup fee, no deposit.

Will I be notified of important mail like IRS letters, state notices, and bank verification?

Yes. When mail arrives we scan the envelope and email you, usually within 24 hours. From your dashboard you can open and scan it, forward it, or shred it — so you never miss a time-sensitive letter.

How soon can I start using my address?

Your address is a real, staffed commercial building, and it goes live within 24 hours of sign-up. After that you can put it on your filings, your bank application, and your mail right away.

Is there a minimum term or cancellation fee?

The monthly plan is month-to-month with no minimum term — cancel whenever you want, no penalty. Yearly plans run for the year you've paid for, so if you'd like to cancel one, just get in touch and we'll walk you through it.

Can I sign up from outside the US?

Yes. save office is built for founders outside the US as well as US residents — you can sign up from anywhere, with no SSN, ITIN, or US visit required. Your mail is scanned online and can be forwarded worldwide.

Can save office keep my home address private?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for the filings you submit from now on. State business filings are public record, and whatever address you write on them gets indexed by search engines and copied by data-broker sites. If you use a save office address in those fields, the address that becomes public is a commercial building instead of your home. Two limits you should know upfront: filings you already made stay in state archives, and whether your name appears on a filing is set by your state's rules, not by the address.
