Whether the address also shows on a contact page or in footer links depends on your theme and which pages you publish, so it is not always in the same spot. The safe assumption is that the store address can be seen, so it should not be your home address.

Shopify Payments and Identity Verification

Turning on Shopify Payments triggers a verification check. Shopify and its banking partners are required to confirm your identity and your business to comply with United States regulations designed to prevent financial crimes.

• Shopify asks for a government photo ID and the official physical address where your business primarily operates.
• The account representative also provides a home address that matches their ID.
• Because this is a verification step, the address has to be a real physical location that holds up to review.

Home, Virtual, or PO Box?

This is the question most sellers are really asking, and the answer follows from the verification rules. Shopify needs a real physical street address, which is why a PO Box does not work for Shopify Payments.
